Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE2 SLC 500 Multi-Channel High-Speed Counter Module
Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE2 is an SLC 500 multi-channel high-speed counter module that counts bidirectionally up to 1 MHz and totalizes, rates and monitors position for high-speed motion applications.
Overview
The 1746-HSCE2 carries six dedicated counter inputs (±A1, ±B1, ±Z1, ±A2, ±B2, ±Z2) selectable between a 4.2 to 12 V DC window at 5 V DC and a 10 to 30 V DC window at 24 V DC. Inputs accept pulses as narrow as 475 ns with 200 ns minimum phase separation at a 1 MHz maximum frequency. Four real 5-30 V DC sourcing outputs plus four virtual outputs are on board, and each counter is 24-bit (counts to ±8,388,607) configurable as linear or ring. Up to four pulse counters or two quadrature counters run simultaneously, driven by the module’s own dedicated processor with a typical backplane response of 0.7 to 1.6 ms.
