Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE is an SLC 500 high-speed counter module with one bidirectional counting channel that accepts quadrature, pulse/direction or up/down encoder inputs and drives four open-collector outputs.

Overview

The 1746-HSCE counts at full speed on a dedicated on-board processor, offloading high-frequency pulse training from the SLC processor scan. The single bidirectional channel supports quadrature, pulse/direction and up/down input modes, with range, rate and sequencer operating modes; throughput is 1.8 ms in sequencer mode and 3.9 ms in range mode. Four open-collector outputs rated for 5, 12 or 24 V DC provide direct control of indicator, trip and handshake functions, and the module is tested to a 1500 V isolation voltage.
