Allen-Bradley 1747-KFC15 is a ControlNet RS-232 communication interface module that connects an SLC 500 processor’s RS-232 serial port to a ControlNet network.
Overview
The 1747-KFC15 mounts in an SLC 500 chassis and bridges the processor’s RS-232C serial port (DF1 protocol) onto ControlNet through dual BNC coaxial connectors – channel A alone for non-redundant media or channels A and B together for redundant media – using standard RG-6 75-ohm coax taps. A front-panel Network Access Port (RJ-45) gives a programming terminal full network access without disturbing trunk cabling. The ControlNet node address is set with on-board rotary switches (S4/S5) and DIP switch banks, and status is shown on the front-panel LEDs and dot-matrix displays. The module draws 150 mA @ 5 V DC and 40 mA @ 24 V DC and is rated 0 to 60 °C.
