Allen-Bradley 1747-ASB is the SLC 500 remote I/O adapter module that links a remote 1746 chassis to a Remote I/O (RIO) link, letting I/O live up to 10,000 ft (3048 m) from the processor.
Overview
The 1747-ASB occupies slot 0 of a 1746 remote chassis and acts as the bridge between the RIO link and the backplane: it operates as a slave device on the RIO link while acting as the master of the remote chassis and any optional remote expansion chassis. No user programming is required – the adapter is configured with on-board DIP switches, and status is visible on the front-panel FAULT and COMM LEDs. It draws 375 mA at 5 V DC from the backplane and is rated for 0 to 60 °C operation with -40 to 85 °C storage.
