WindsorHuangKeymasterMy apologies if this has been asked before (maybe a thousand times), but does anyone have a procedure for manually tuning PIDs? No Tuning Software here. This one happens to be a Pressure Loop, but there’s a Temperature Loop, too. Started with some Parameters from another (similar) Pressure Loop (pulling vacuum), was moving too slowly, tried repeatedly bumping the “P” value … from 5 to 10 to 20 to 40 … but not really helping much. Moving in the right direction, but still too slowly. Have it set up as Reverse-Acting (as Error increases, Output decreases). Want the (fail-closed) Valve (starting at 100%) to close to pull more vacuum.
Anyway … thought I’d once seen a procedure like … clear all 3 parameters, start doubling “P” until it starts oscillating (?) … then move to “I” …
